A HEALING CHURCH

Healing is part of God’s plan for his people.  In the Old Testament (Exodus 15:26) God says to the people “  . . I am the God who heals you.”  Also in the Old Testament we find the prophets and leaders of the people occasionally healing and raising the dead.

 

However, with Jesus things changed - a large part of his ministry had to do with healing. He was and is the living Word, and he wanted the church that bears his name to practise healing -  it was to be a healing church.  That is the theme for this course – “A Healing Church”

 

COURSE CONTENT

The course is Bible based throughout and comprises 6 sessions:

• CALL               
  We look at the call of Jesus on ordinary people, and his training them to make them his disciples.

• COMMISSION
  We see how Jesus commissions his disciples (church) to go out to teach and to heal

• AUTHORITY    
  We learn about the authority Jesus gives his disciples (church) and how he enables them through the Holy Spirit

• POWER           
  We discover the power of prayer as we study the life of Elijah

• PRACTICE       
  We begin to put into practice what we’ve learned

• DELIVERANCE
  Arena of Conflict, assurance of conquest, engaging the enemy

                       

In the passage we started with (Exodus 15:26), the promise to be “the God who heals you” is set within the context of listening, doing and obeying.  So while these sessions lead participants into knowing about and believing in Christian (Divine) healing, they also (and more importantly) are about: doing it, how to do it and who is to be doing it.
